Miquela A. Cruz is a Chicago-based multi-disciplinary performing artist, writer, director, and educator whose work lives and loves at the intersection of creative adventures, storytelling, and community.
She has performed all across the United States and in more than half a dozen countries, bringing her fantastic, powerfully fun-loving presence to stages both traditional, like The Steppenwolf Theatre, and unexpected, like The Tall Ship Windy. In Chicago, her work has been seen with Corn Productions, A Reasonable Facsimile Theatre Company (ARFTCo), Collaboraction, and MANY others.
Raised in a family where arts and sciences were part of everyday life, Miquela began creating early, writing her first opera at three, directing her first play at seven, and launching her first improv troupe at thirteen. That lifelong instinct for creation continues to shape her work as both an artist and a collaborator.
In addition to her performance career, Miquela is a passionate educator. She spent over a decade at Harand Theatre Camp, where she developed a teaching style rooted in curiosity, confidence-building, and joyful experimentation.
She now offers a range of creative and lifestyle-based learning experiences, including cooking seminars, mixology lessons, crafting workshops, and private acting coaching, all designed to make artistry accessible, playful and authentic.
